Retire Soccer Player

Question

My players kick ass!  Rather than simply delete them when I promote a better player, I want to retire the old player.

I like the general idea, but... if your players really kick ass, why do you want to get rid of them? They're not getting worse for wear, are they?

Example: my current keeper has a defense stat of 64 and I am training another player who will peak at 66.  When I add my new keeper, some other player will leave (the one with the least useful stats).

Oh come on... Obviously you get better and better players. My point is, if you want to get rid of some, that's because you have better ones. So, why honor the ones you're deleting by allowing them to retire? They're not the best.

On a related note: maybe you could sell them to somebody else, or put them up for an auction. This could add another depth to this game. On the other hand, HCL is a porn game, not a football manager, so I don't think that idea would fly with the developers.
