How does using the street relate to how much pride you get back?

It seems to be price based but random, is there a pattern I'm missing, other than pay as much as I possibly can?

As far as I can tell the higher priced hoes return more mojo but not more excitement.

This does seem to be the case, and as a result I almost always take the cheapest option I can get... I never seem to need mojo, it's always length I need more of, which you don't get on the street, and excitement, which is the same regardless of price.   Who knew!
