How do I give gifts to non-friends?

Question

I keep getting gifts from people who are NOT my friends.

How can I return that favour? How is this done in the game?

just take the gift and if so it sends one back automatically ;)

is anybody on ur buddies list? u can (only) send 5 gifts a day! the little flashing red XXX icons on ur buddies ;)

sheke his/her hand,
then you have them in buddy list

I know about the flashing. XXX on my buddies list, that's easy business.

What I still wanna know.
Now if  I do NOT want to make him my buddie, just send him a gift, what do I have to do?
That's not so obvious to me. I mean if others can do that, it must be possible for me, too.
