Level 90-99 for Fusion

Question

Does anyone know if you can use a level 90-99 for level 80 fusion girl or does she have to be between 80-89?

From personnal experience, I can tell you that level 90-99 girls are useless as far as fusion goes.

This being said, I have no girl fused past the third diamond.
